Sidama Ministry et Result 2017 Grade 6 & Grade 8 2017/2025 (PDF). The Sidama National Region Education Bureau administered the Grade 6 & Grade 8 national examinations in June every year. Students and parents can view the results online and download them in PDF format.
Under the new Ethiopian education curriculum framework, these exams are conducted. The Grade 6 and Grade 8 exams serve as the first and second โroundโ assessments, respectively, under this new system.
Sidama Ministry et Grade 6 & Grade 8 Result 2017
The Sidama ministry et results for grade 6 & grade 8 are published using a new edge technology platform developed by Qelem Meda Technologies to handle student registration, ID number assignment, exam grading, and post-exam analysis.
While the Sidama Bureau oversees the exams locally. The Sidama Ministry’s grade 6 result and grade 8 result are also published in PDF format. Sidama students took the SNNP regional exams, but after the Sidama Regionโs formation on June 18, 2020, the Sidama Education Bureau assumed control of administering these exams within the new region.
The Grade 6 and 8 exams in Sidama are held toward the end of the academic year, following the national academic calendar. Typically, the exams take place in late spring or early summer (June) at designated centers across the region.
Result Publish Date
Results are usually processed and released a few weeks after the exams. In the 2016 E.C. academic year, Sidamaโs regional bureau announced the Grade 6 and 8 exam results on Nehase 10, 2016 E.C., which corresponds to mid-August 2024.

Thus, it is customary for exams to be given in June and results to be published by July or August of the same year.
Structure of the Exams
The Grade 6 and Grade 8 regional exams are comprehensive assessments covering the core curriculum. They are structured to test competencies across major subjects, typically including Mathematics, Science, English, Amharic (or mother-tongue language where applicable), and Social Studies.
These exams are essentially primary school leaving examinations: Grade 6 serves as an end-of-primary checkpoint, and Grade 8 is a regional completion exam for middle school, determining readiness for secondary education.
Students who meet or exceed this threshold in Grade 6 qualify to enter Grade 7, and those who score โฅ50% in Grade 8 qualify to proceed to Grade 9 (the first year of secondary school)
How to Check Result Online?
After the exams, the Sidama Education Bureau (in coordination with EAES) publishes the results on official platforms. Students can access their results online via a dedicated portal (the Sidama results website, sidama.ministry.et
) by entering their registration number and first name.
For Grade 8:

- A result checker form will appear
- Enter your registration number and First name
- Click โView Resultโ or a similar button to see your scores.
For Grade 6:
- Visit sidama6.ministry.et.
- Navigate to the โCheck Resultsโ option.
- Enter your registration number.
- Click โSearchโ to view your results.
Additionally, results are often made available through SMS and Telegram bot services for convenience โ for example, the bureau provides an SMS short code and an official Telegram bot to facilitate result retrieval.
Student Performance and Results
The Sidama Region has seen noteworthy trends in student performance on these exams. In the 2016 E.C. (2023/24) academic year, approximately 48,763 students took the Grade 6 regional exam, which was the first time this exam had been administered in the region (Grade 6 ministry exams were introduced that year under the new policy).
For Grade 8, which is a critical exam marking the end of middle school, Sidamaโs performance has shown significant improvement year over year. In 2016, approximately 69,880 students took the Sidama Grade 8 regional exam, and 54.1% of those students achieved a score of 50% or higher, thereby qualifying for Grade 9.
According to the Sidama Education Bureauโs report, 44 schools in the region managed a 100% pass rate. Every Grade 8 student in those schools passed, indicating pockets of firm performance.
